Cost of medallions
During the most recent auction (November 7), medallions sold for something like $275-350k apiece. I've also heard that existing medallions cost about $600k when sold outside of the auction process. Is this correct? If so, why is there such a difference in price? Is it due to the fact that the new medallions are either accessible or alternative fuel medallions?

Re: Cost of medallions
Hey skuba. thanks for replying to my post. I am trying to get inside info on the driving issue to see if you must drive . Anyway the cost for a medallion right now is $425k from a broker. The costs you were refering to from the city november sale were for Handicaped accesible medallions  they were a little cheaper. The fleet medalions are more expensive at around $600k or more. Are you looking for a medallion? i am also any questions feel free to email me as i am loaded with ? myself

Re: Cost of medallions

Fleet medallions, regular 600k

Fleet medallions, handicapped 475k??? But who knows, HE is not selling

Regular Medallions, Individual 430k

Handicapped Acc Individ Medallions 350-370??, I only heard of one being sold for 370k, but I don't know if that is true. However, I met someone who refinanced up to 350k

The handicapped medallions were cheaper at auction because of the high price of the car, the lower fuel economy. and the fact that a dispatch system will eventually be put into place.
