Where to buy accessible vehicle, and insurance and maintenance costs
Anyone know where to buy an accessible cab, and how much $? Also curious about typical insurance and maintenance costs.

You may want to contact the list of Wheel Chair Accessible Vehicle Dealers provided by TLC:

http://ci.nyc.ny.us/html/tlc/html/industry/fhv_wheelchair.shtml

We have introduced in our album a picture of one of the three accessible vehicles accepted in new york city as a taxi:

Thanks Moderator for your reply. What are the three types of approved accessible cabs?

I'm not sure of the complete list at this time; TLC sets some standards for vehicles to be accepted as a Wheel Chair Accessible Vehicle taxi in New York City, and FORD and TOYATA are minivans among them.

For more information you can consult with TLC website:

Re: Where to buy accessible vehicle, and insurance and maintenance costs

Cheapest is 43k, Bronx Ford Zeraga Avenue. The other type is like 48k, and gets crappier milage.

I have had bad luck so far with my Dodge Grand Caravan, new battery, new map lights, failed inspection because the seatbelt would not bounce back quick enough. They are a crappy car, but what the heck, it is a medallion, and eventually all the medallions will be Hybrid and Handicapped Accessible only, and we will all be in this mess together.
