Re: What is the difference between renting a cab from a garage and renting from another driver/owner?

Garage lease:

advantages:
- Option to lease it daily or weekly
- Likely to get down time if the car broke
- Help when accident occurs

Disadvantages:
- High lease
- possibility to get a bad car
- Dealing with dispatchers

Private owner:

Advantages:
- Affordable lease
- Very clean and well maintained car
- Working stable time

Disadvantages:
- Responsible for car maintenance (time), washing (money)
- Some require down payment up to $500
- In case of accident you are likely to pay from pocket until insurance cover

This is not a final list, if anybody have an objection to this list or addition please post

You may go and wait one or two hours to get dispatched a car, but you end up going back home without work. This is usually happens if you work daily!!!. Don’t forget that tipping is customary.

Re: What is the difference between renting a cab from a garage and renting from another driver/owner?

Advantage: Private owners don't get tipped, easier to deal with usually.

Disadvantage: 2 years usually required before insurance will put you on private medallion
