Is anyone using the Toyota Sienna, Honda or Dodge REAR ENTRY/Kneeling vans for disabled (wheelchair bound) transport? I'm NOT in the NYC area and will not be going up against you. But I am close by but will not be doing your areas. Just need your professional experience. If you are catering to these passengers:
1) What type of van are you using?
2) Bad experiences with the EQUIPMENT or good ones.
3) Ability of the passengers to pay. (We all know people complain about rates but they are what they are)
4) Are they cash or credit card passengers.
5) Since you are using a rear entry or even curb side, with or without the automatic deploy, how much more time is the unloading, loading and securing of the passenger adding to a typical run?
6) Since NY DOT has not recognized these non-commercial (less than 3/4 or full one ton) vans for medicade, has anyone heard how we can convince them to allow these more economical units be utilized for non-medical but medicade possible transport. (door to door, non assist)
7) Are you using expanded cab cams to include video of the passenger area and ramp area to decrease liability claims?
