Hybrid Taxi
Hello everyone, my first post

I would like to know info on Hybrid cars,

how tough are they?
cost to fix them compared to Crown vic?
the the fuel cost savings justify the added cost of maintenance?

and if someone can share their experiences about the Toyota Camry and Highlander Hybrids. thanks
Happiesam

Re: Hybrid Taxi

Hey, I have 2 Ford Escape Hybrid. I wouldn't go for hybrid but I know it saved you money on gas but it doesn't save you money on maintance. In less than a year it cost me about $7,000 - $9, 000 to fix everything plus oil change. I would rather pick crown victoria because it last longer and more space.

Re: Hybrid Taxi

I drive a hybrid taxi since our garage was the first to buy Ford Escape H. cabs! It is a fine car, but not good with partition. It is true, could be a lot more expensive to repair, if you drive it without care! It is safer and easier to drive, then the Crown Victoria within a speed limit in the city. It does 30 MPG with care driving style. However, most cabbie not cares about that, so goes down to 20 MPG or less. The CV does about 10 MPG! With hybrid taxi, you will be able to save at least 20 dollars on fuel! There are more advanced security devices and cameras on the market, for the smaller Ford Escape, Atima and Prius cabs cameras are better choices!
