Some customers thinks that the world should be perfect
Hello fellow drivers,

This morning I picked up a fare from upper west side at 6.15 am going south for like 15 blocks.
Once I started the meter, he told me the meter is wrong, it should be $0.50 extras not $1 in extras , which he was absolutely right.
I apologized and told him that this is not my car it belongs to the garage and I get almost different car everyday and on top of that you are my first customer after 6 am so there was no way I could figure out that this meter is wrong.
I also told him that I will give cut 50 cent 50 from the final fare.
It seemed like he didn't believe me and didn't replied back.
the total fare was 4.70 but I asked him for 4.20 he handed me 5 singles and asked for a receipt then told me that If I was aware that it's also my responsibility and what just happened is illegal.
He showed me the receipt and said ''it's for the report'' and left, he seemed pretty serious.
My license is new and it's my second month driving and I guess you all know that TLC is very strict when it comes to new drivers.
I picked up the next fare after 5 min and the meter was fine and was only showing $0.50 extras which it's supposed to and I also kept the receipt for that transaction.

What will happen if he does report?

Hey, I have the same problem. The system gives a $1 surcharge until about 6:05 AM or so, so this might be systemwide problem that has nothing to do with you.

Re: Some customers thinks that the world should be perfect

that kind of people you give them the receipt and tell them to get out and have a nice day. Not your fault, not your car, he can go do whatever the hell he wants. I have noticed one thing since I started driving 2 years ago, all yellow car drivers are scared of TLC and customers threatening the drivers. You are not an animal, you have rights just like everyone else. You provide service and deserve respect in return, if you donot get that respect then you give them what they deserve. You are incharge when you are driving the car, not the passanger. This is just how I feel but not a lot of people agree with me. I dont take nonsense from anyone on these tuff streets.

Thanks
