medallion question
trying to work out the numbers for possibly buying a medallion. can anyone tell me how much a taxi owner pays to lease a corporate medallion per month? thanks

From my knowledge and the recent information from my Broker. It's approximately $2600-2800 a month for renting a Medallion Only. Honestly, I'm a mini fleet owner and if you're planning to purchase an medallion. I'll think twice first unless you're driving the other 12 hour shift then that's worth it. If not then you'll be working your behind off just to pay for the medallion alone. Take my word for advice.

thanks for the note. will consider what you said. one more question: does that $2600-2800 include the taxi owner paying all insurance and fees on the medallion? as far as i can tell, they are the ones that usually cover those expenses.

well my broker pays 3400 a month THAT IS ON 3 YEAR LEASING OF MEDALLION BASED to any medallion owner plus my broker pays all expenses its allready since june 15 2011 prices for medallion owners went up as brokers are competing for the most medallions to manage as the increase in the meter is coming up soon as the next 1500 medalions auction comes out by the TLC soon i'm in the idustry since august of 1974 retired if you need help in leasing your medallion to my broker for the amount of 3400.00 per month call me 9178536220 good luck !!!
