If you ask any New York yellow cab driver which car you prefer to drive as taxi in New York City?

I’m sure the majority will answer Ford Crown Victoria Taxi drivers and fleet companies consider it a comfortable safe affordable maintenance and long lasting car.

The drawback of Crown Victoria is that:

-             It is a fuel consuming vehicle

-           And none environmental friendly

With Michael R. Bloomberg Plan to replace all gas-guzzling vehicles by 2012 by cleaner more fuel-efficient hybrid vehicles. Crown Victoria might be no longer a New Yorktaxi by 2012.

ford probably can make a hybrid version of crown victoria. They have a good reputation in the market.

Just for reference...Ford Motor Company is phasing out the Crown Victoria after the 2009 model year. This is the reason a Hybrid crown vic was never discussed.
