Re: pedicab

There is no way to know what they make.  They pay about $50 for the use of the thing and then charge passengers, mostly tourists, whatever they will pay.  I suspect some days they make little or nothing and some days they make out like bandits
. They seem to be most busy in midtown traffic jams where there are few available taxis.  I have heard they can sometimes get $30 or $40 to take a tourist in midtown back to their hotel in midtown!

They work hard but I would not get in one of those things.  If one of them gets rear ended hard the passenger will probably be injured or killed.

Re: pedicab

if it is $400 a day for an 8 hour day,  they do much better than average day time taxi driver take home in a week. consider to change from taxi driver to pedcab driver. no high gas price, no high tip demand to dispatcher, no small tip to mechanic,  no red light ticket, no more illegal turn summon, no more parking ticket, no more reckless driving summon, no harrassment form TLC, no urine test, no 80 hour course. I suspect there are a small electric motor to aid the haul, or all must be super strong to haul 5-600 lb on upgrade road all day.
