Did anyone received a pink ticket Sec 220-20 sub 5?
I got a pink ticket today for dropping a passenger on crosswalk saying Disconduct/obstruction to pedestrian. Is there a big fine for it or do i have to have a lawyer. Anyone who had this situation,Please need some advice. Thank you. |

I got the same ticket last June from a cop in the 13th precinct. You don't need a lawyer. They have lawyers there for free if you choose to fight it, which I don't recommend you do. The judge offered me a $50 fine and there are no DMV points associated with this. I decided to pay the $50 and be done with it. If I fought it, I would have had to go back there on another day as the cop is not there the first time but will show up another time if you fight it.
It is only a money making scam by Bloomberg and associates. You will find that many of your fellow "criminals" were sitting on park benches after park closing time or drinking a can of beer in public. They know most just don't have the time to fight this nonsense, especially because there are no DMV points to worry about. I felt I could destroy the cop's testimony but don't have the time for this BS.
By the way, if the cop told you that you could answer the ticket anytime between when you got it and the date on the ticket, it is not true. You can go maybe 5 days before the date on the ticket, no earlier. They are crowded down there and send people away who are not near the due date on the ticket.
