Went away...lost my shift
ok so i went away for 3 weeks and before i left on 4 occassions iasked if it will be a problem and if iwill lose my schedule when return, i was told no including twice by the owner of the garage that it wouldnt be a problem. then i returned only to have lost my schedule. im on a waiting list now and basically have to wait 2 to 3 hrs before ican get a car. wh!at should i do? should i try to work with another garage? is it even possible to get a shift at this time? please help

hi, the thing is this, in the garage they put you on daily basis and once you are on daily basis they can put you in and out without any notice and you cant really do anything about it. if you were doing weekly and used to pay for the week then you should be given the cab and if they dont then call the tlc on them and iam sure they are charging you more than the tlc fixed rate and if they are doing it, just call tlc and inform them what they were charging and why they are not giving you car now, so that means you are unemployed and mind you these owners or medallion garages pay workers compensation on each medallion so if you cant get the car, you are eligible for unemployment benefits apply for that and watch how the garage call you and give you car. if you need further assistance, email me on taxidrivernyc@aol.com |
