Re: I want to buy a medallion.

The firs thing you need to do is come into the office to discuss if purchasing is afforadble. The second thing you will need to do is get approved for Financing and leave a deposit with me that gets creditied to your down payment.

ALl of this can be donw in about 2 hours. It will not make any sense to write anything more because if you cant get financing then there is no deal. So pelase call me or stop by my office. My office is on 45th street between 9th and 10th, it is called Third Geneartion Brokerage Inc. ask for Jon.

Re: I want to buy a medallion.
Do you intend to drive the cab yourself, or lease it out? I think the answer to that question determines your next steps, since there are Independent Operator medallions and fleet medallions. Cabs with IO medallions must be driven by the owner of the medallion, and the owner cannot own more than one medallion. The fleet medallions can be leased out, and must be owned by a corporation or partnership. The corporation must own at least 2 medallions. Disclaimer: I’m not an expert on this; I’ve read the rules on the TLC website and interpreted them to the best of my ability.

Re: I want to buy a medallion.

700k each minifleet reg sold in sets of two so 1.4 M

625k??? each minifleet handicapped.

550k each individual reg

460k each individual handicapped.

So, come up with like 50-65k down payment and a hack license for the individual, or around 200k for each minifleet which means 400k for the set, since they are sold in lots of two, and you are in business.

Good Luck, Antolin

Re: I want to buy a medallion.
My mother owns an individual taxi medallion prior to 1990, soshe does not have to drive it herself. We have a management companylease our medallion. They only give her 2000/mth for the rental andwhatever they make on leasing they keep. No documents except a checkthey cut for her. Please let me know if you think they are ripping heroff. Should she be getting more for renting out her medallion. I amassuming they will be renting out the medallion for both shifts sinceshe doesnt drive. Also, what would average management fees be?

Thank you in advance for any advice you may offer. I am desperate to help my mother but do not know where to look.

Sincerely,
Michael
